to Chase the Grinch out of Sno-Who-Mish!

 December 19th and 20th

The Grinch has been a cagey feller these last few years. To help out in chasing down the elusive Grinch we have brought in a Grinch catching specialist, The Snohomish Running Company. The Historic Downtown Snohomish Association is partnering with the Snohomish Running Company to help ensure the funnest, safest and most enjoyable 5K and 10K run/walk yet.

This year's Chase the Grinch out of Sno-Who-Mish will feature a socially distanced and COVID-19 mitigated live run on December 19th and 20th. Participants will be able to choose their own start times while at the same time enjoying fun on course decorations and cut-outs. For those who aren't quite feeling up to running down a Grinch in a crowd, a virtual run option is available from December 16th through December 24th. Each participant will get a custom buff, finisher medal and bib number with their registration. Custom race shirts are available for an additional $10. Need some warming up before you chase down the Grinch? Take part in the Chase the Grinch Semi-Virtual Beer Run between December 16th and 24th. Beer run will be $10 for participants or $15 for non-participants.

Running route will be an out-and-back starting and finishing along the Centennial Trail across the parking lot from Averill Field in Snohomish. Participants will be required to wear masks prior to the run and immediately following the run. Masks will not be required during the run as long as you are 6 feet away from another participant. Other COVID-19 mitigation plans will also be enacted throughout the event.

Live Runners:

All participants who plan to run in the live event will need to pickup their race packet at Snohomish Running Company from Friday, December 11th through Friday, December 17th. See below for store hours. Phase 2 restrictions do not allow us to offer day of race packet pickup. Live run participants can pay to have their packets shipped to them for an additional $10. However, they will need to pay the $10 by the end of the day Sunday, December 13th. Otherwise, we will not be able to get them their packets in time so they are there by race day.

Virtual Runners:

Virtual runners will be able to complete either the 5K or 10K between December 16th and the 23rd. Random prizes and awards will be available for everyone who post their results in the Chase the Grinch out of Snohomish Strava Group or who posts on Instagram. Virtual participants are encouraged to pick up their race packets at Snohomish Running Company between December 11th and December 17th. If you do not pick up your race packets during these days we will begin shipping virtual packets at no additional charge on December 20th. Virtual runners can also pay the $10 to have their packets shipped early so they are there by Sunday, December 18th.

If anyone would like to pay the $10 to have their packets shipped so they have them by the 18th please have them email info@snohomishrunning.com. Please put "Chase the Grinch Shipping" in the subject line.
